Question:
Im considering purchasing a 2024 Venza Limited Hybrid. It has no towing capacity listed, though it is rated to 1750 in Canada and Europe. You obviously sell a hitch for the vehicle, and reviewers seem to like them! I only plan to tow a maximum weight of 300 kayak trailer. Can you tell me anything I should consider before going this route. Thank you!

Hello Steve. We do indeed carry a trailer hitch for the 2024 Toyota Venza Hybrid Limited. I recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e25AR. This has a 2" receiver and the hitch itself is rated for up to 3,500 lbs towing. That said, just because the hitch is rated for 3.500 lbs does not mean the vehicle is rated for that much. I do have to recommend that you stick to the manufacturers recommended towing capacity. If they specify no towing capacity, then you will be towing at your own risk. Generally, I would not recommend ever exceeding the manufacturers specified towing capacity because you are risking non-warranty damage to your car.
If you are going to tow, a lightweight trailer like a kayak trailer towed over short distances will be your best bet. A 300 lb trailer will put very little tongue weight on the hitch so it should not affect ride quality or range too much.
You will also need a trailer wiring harness for your vehicle. For that I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59496.
