Comparing Inno Wedge 660 and Yakima GrandTour Lo Profile Cargo Boxes

Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 06/04/2024

Question:

Hello - what lo profile box do you recommend and why for 2021 4runner limited OEM bars? Trying to decide between the Inno wedge 660 or the Yak Grand Tour Lo? Ive heard that the Inno albeit a little taller is better / rigid with wind noise...

Both the Inno Wedge 660 # INBRM660BK and Yakima GrandTour Lo # Y46FR are great products and I would say you would want to also consider the size difference as well. The Inno is 11 cubic feet and has a weight capacity of 110lbs. The Yakima 15 cubic feet with a weight capacity of 165lbs. So if the additional room is more important you would want the Yakima. If the size is not a concern the Inno is going to have a more ridged base which means the entire unit is less likely to flex and will makes less wind noise.

Is the Inno 660 overall lower when mounted as compared to the Yakima Lo because of the base design? I ask because I live in a condo and garage height matters and I want the lowest/thinnest possible when mounted on crossbars. Thanks, Jason

@Jason Hey, Jason! I went out and was able to take a quick measurement of the Inno Wedge 660 # INBRM660BK and once installed on the cross bars it would stick up at least 9". We show a total of 11" for height for the box but that would also account for the the part of the box that sits below the bars as well as the thickness of the box itself. I don't have the Yakima on hand currently so I can't say for sure how much it would stick up from the bars. I could apply the same idea of 2" less than the over all like the Inno is but I cant say for sure. How much clearance do you have between your cross bars and the garage opening?
