Can City Water Check Valve Inlet Part be Swapped Out

Published 05/29/2024

Question:

Dual rv water inlet on our rv which is very similar to the e-trailer part shown here. Our city water check valve was damaged on our rv dual water inlet when we got the rv winterized this past fall and no longer works. Now we cannot add any fresh water to our fresh water gravity tank as the water pours out of the city water intake as soon as the water pump is turned on because the city water check valve is damaged. Im wondering if we can just purchase a new city water check valve part and replace that part only or does the entire unit need to be swapped out and replaced if the city water component isnt functioning.

Hi Chris,

You can replace just the city water inlet, you don't have to replace the entire thing with the # A01-2004BKVP you mentioned.

You'll need to find the right size and fitting, however, such as the Valterra RV City Water Inlet - 2-3/4" Metal Flange - Brass FPT # A01-0171LFVP. This part has a 1/2" FPT brass check valve but also includes an adapter for an MPT connection and has a 2-3/4" diameter flange.

I have added a link below to all of our city water inlets which you can filter through by size.
