Which Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box on Alliance RV 36V11 w/ Lippert Rhino

Question:

I have ordered a new 5th wheel toy hauler from Alliance RV. it is model 36V11, with a GVWR OF 16,950 lbs. and Hitch Weight of 2,995 lbs. Alliance has informed me that they use Lippert Rhino king pins. I see several Gen-y Pin Boxes that would seem to fit this camper. I am unsure which would be best with the given weights. Your advice would be appreciated. Thank You Bobby

Hey Bobby,

Good question, and to get the right Gen-Y to replace the Lippert Rhino on your new Alliance RV 36V11, the GVWR is all that's required. Since this trailer's GVWR is 16,950, its loaded pin weight will be in the 3,800 lb range (give or take).

For that you'd need the Gen-Y with a 3,500 lb - 5,500 lb pin weight capacity, and to replace your Rhino pin box you'd use the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY23GR.
