Can the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter Be Used For a Bike Rack

Question:

I am considering the Roadmaster RM-58-04-4 four inch hitch. It would be used for a bike rack on a RAM 3500 pickup. The bike rack with the bike would be a combined weight of less then 100 pounds. One of your YouTube reviews said this hitch was not suitable for bike racks with the eight inch but the four inch review had no mention of bike racks. A quandary, will the four inch configuration work for a bike rack? Thanks

A quandary indeed, but yes you can use the Roadmaster High Low Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-058-4 with a bike rack. The main reason that we don't suggest using an adapter is because it will cut your hitch's capacity in half, and typically there are heavier bikes involved which would affectively give you no capacity, but since your combined bikes and rack weigh less than 100 lbs I'd say you'll be fine.
