Options For Using An Air Compressor At The Hitch Of My Truck?

Question:

Im looking for a power adapter I can use at the hitch of my F250 to power a 12v electric air pump. The issue is that the pump has alligator clips I would normally connect directly to the battery though. Do they make an adapter I can plug in at the hitch that I can connect alligator clips to? Thanks

Hello Doug. I am not aware of any adapter made for this purpose. If your compressor is made to be clipped to a battery, this is the only way to use it. It might be possible to modify/extend the battery cables to reach the battery at the front of the truck, but I really can't recommend doing this. The only real solution we can offer would be to use a different kind of compressor like the Viair 7-Way Automatic RV Portable Air Compressor # VA33JR. This compressor has a power cord designed to plug directly into the 7-way plug on the back of your truck so, basically exactly what you are looking for.
