Question:
Could I use inner bearing lm68149 in place of 25580 on 8-213-5uc1 it on a mobile home axle

Expert Reply:
Hey Doug, the # 8-213-5UC1 hub that you mentioned uses only the # 25580 inner and # LM67048 outer bearings. The # 25580 bearing has a 1.75" ID and roughly 3-1/4" OD. The # L68149 bearing has a 1.378" ID and roughly 2-3/8" OD. So, there is no way the # L68149 could be used in the place of the # 25580 bearing.
Mobile home axles usually use some oddball bearing sizes and they really are not designed to be re-used. It will likely prove very difficult to find compatible parts, so we would have to recommend replacing the axle entirely with something that uses more common bearing sizes that are readily available.
