Question:

What is the difference between Yakima lid support replacement # 8880683 and # 8880684? They look the same. I’m looking into these for my Skybox 21 and am curious why would you need # 8880683 for the front hinge replacement and # 8880684 for the rear hinge replacement.

I spoke with Yakima, and they said that the Replacement Lid Support for Yakima Cargo Boxes # 8880684 and the Replacement Lid Support for Yakima Cargo Boxes # 8880683 are the essentially the same thing minus the spring color, oddly enough.

But, even though they appear to be essentially the same thing, Yakima does specifically say that you'd need to use # 8880684 for the front and # 8880683 for the rear on your Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07337.
