Is it possible to remove the wiring/4pin from the 7 pin connector so the 7pin can be reused with other wiring?

While it is not really designed for this purpose, yes, I suppose it would be possible to remove the 4 pin end from the # 118710 adapter. Your best bet would be to just cut the wires right behind the 4 flat plug, then just strip the wire back a bit before you re use it with other wiring.
