Bike Rack Lock Solution for Recessed Hitch on Rivian R1S
Published 11/20/2023 >
Question:
Hi, Im trying to mount a Saris Freedom 4-Bike Hitch Mount mounted on a new Rivian R1S. I use the Saris Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock but the pin is not long enough. The problem is that the hitch on the R1S has a recessed opening such that the bolt head on the pin is completed recessed into the hitch I cant tighten with a wrench. It I put a washer on the pin to keep the bolt head out of the recess, the pin isnt long enough to get lock connected on the other side. Do you have any other locking anti-rattle hitch pins that might fit? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Since the Saris Freedom 4-Bike racks use a threaded insert for the hitch bolts you technically remove that insert and use the Let's Go Aero hitch lock part # 63232 since it has ends that will stick out past that recessed hitch pin hole spot you have on your Rivian R1S truck.
