Question:
I tried to reset my Atwood carbon monoxide detector, but it will not reset so I’ve ordered a new one to replace it but in the meantime, how do I stop the chirping?

If you've reset the unit and it keeps chirping then it's just letting you know it's at the end of its life cycle and in need of replacement. Carbon Monoxide detectors like the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector # AT36681 have a two power wires so that they can be connected to a back up power source. If you remove these connections the unit will have no power and will stop chirping. If you have a different unit with an internal battery and it keeps chirping after disconnecting it from power then the only thing you can do is toss it and maybe wrap some tape around the speaker openings to quiet it.
