Question:
I have a Fastway E2 trunnion WDH rated for 450 pound tongue weight. Can I just replace the spring bars for a heavier trailer?

Expert Reply:
You are going to need to replace your entire hitch with either the 6,000LB # FA92-00-0600 or 10,000LB # FA92-00-1000 Fastway e2 weight distribution hitches for towing a larger trailer. The 4,500LB # FA92-00-0450 hitch you have uses lighter duty components which are specific to this hitch and you cannot upgrade the parts of the hitch to tow heavier trailers.
The 6,000LB Hitch # FA92-00-0600 is rated for a tongue weight of 250-600lbs while the 10,000LB Hitch # FA92-00-1000 is rated for 600-1,000lbs of tongue weight.
