Can Replacement Awning Fabric Be Secured With Screws Instead of Rivets

When replacing the awning fabric the ends on my powered awning are held in by rivets rather than screws. Should I drill out the rivet and replace with screws since I don't have a rivet tool?

Yes, you can remove the rivets and use some self tapping screws to secure the # LCV000334398 and complete the installation. If you watch the video attached below starting at the 10 minute mark you will see where they used the # FA1131822 to finish installing the replacement fabric.
