Does 2018 Honda Accord Manual Transmission Need to Just be Put in Neutral to Flat Tow

Question:

I am about to flat tow my 2018 Honda Accord Sport manual transmission car behind my coach. The base plate from eTrailer is installed, the tow bar is mounted and the level of the bar is within the tolerances in the instructions. I am having the Invisibrake system installed in about a week and the diode wiring completed as well. Having towed a Fiat 500 Over some 30,000 miles in 6 years I know what I am doing in regard to management of a Toad but I cannot find anything in regard to making sure the car will be fine. For the Fiat all we did was put it in neutral and make sure the emergency brake was off. Will the Accord be the same, or is there something else I need to do. The owners manual does not seem to address this at all and a local dealer seems to be clueless

I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2018 Honda Accord with a manual transmission and on page 463 it does address flat towing. You do put it in neutral and set the power mode to ACC, but also remove fuses, and there is a procedure outlined to do so. I recommend reading that as it gives you the exact procedure, and you can make this process quite a bit easier by using the following fuse bypass switches:

- Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicle - (2) 20-Amp ATM Mini-Fuses # RM76512

- Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass - 13" - 20-Amp Mini-Fuse # RM76511
