Question:

I have a 2019 RAM 5500 chassis cab with a CM ER truck bed. The truck bed has a recessed channel down the middle with a welded 2 5/16” gooseneck ball. It is NOT a turnover ball. I have a fifth wheel camper and want to convert the gooseneck hitch to a fifth wheel hitch. I’m impressed with the BandW Companion hitch BWRVK3500 that fits inside the bed channel but they appear to only work with the turnover ball. Is there a Companion hitch that has a coupler on the bottom to fit on the gooseneck ball instead of the square post that fits into the hole of the turnover ball? If not, is there a fifth wheel hitch that you can recommend? Thanks for any help!

To be able to install a B&W Companion, like the # BWRVK3050, you would have to remove your current gooseneck hitch and have part # BWGNRK1500 welded in place of it. If that's more than you'd like to do then you could use the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter for Recessed Ball # DM8550046 instead and connect to your current gooseneck ball.
