Can I hardwire the ac in side directly to breaker panel rather than using the attached power cord??

Technically you could cut the plug off of the power cord for the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR and hardwire it or you could get the hardwired version of this inverter with part # PD94FR and could use the correct length wire for the connection instead of having to splice more on.
