This Curt T-Connector installs entirely at the rear of the vehicle, so there’s no need to run a wire up to the engine compartment. The harness plugs into existing connectors and mounts inside the cargo area, keeping everything protected and out of sight. Once in place, you get a ready-to-use 4-flat trailer connector that powers your trailer lights with a clean factory look.
The integrated powered converter takes the vehicle’s separate turn and brake light signals and combines them into a single output for the trailer. That means your trailer tail lights work exactly as they should—acting as both brake and turn lights without signal confusion. The converter ensures smooth, consistent lighting even when multiple functions are used at once.
The newer version of this harness includes an inline 10 amp fuse on the power input, and it also requires replacing the tow lamp fuse in the vehicle with a matching 10 amp fuse. This setup protects the wiring from overload and keeps both vehicle and trailer lighting circuits safe during use.
If you decide to add a brake controller or 12-volt charge line later, this harness gives you a solid base to start from. The 4-way flat can plug directly into a universal 7-way install kit (like the ETBC7 setup) for easy expansion without rewiring what’s already there. It’s a simple way to grow your towing setup when you’re ready for more capability.
A good ground makes all the difference in trailer lighting. This harness is designed to be grounded to bare metal for best results, ensuring each light function—running, turn, and brake—stays bright and consistent. Keep the connector clean and corrosion-free, and it’ll deliver steady performance every time you tow.
This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

I still wish every online or brick and mortar retailer could provide the great customer service etrailer does. I have purchased two hitches and two vehicle specific wiring harnesses and after a year of use everything continues to perform perfectly. In one case I even got a call from them immediate after ordering to discuss the ball I ed. They indicated that there could be a compatibility issue and recommended ant other that would be a better fit and it cost less as well.

This item fits a 2005 Murano, but not a 2006. The part you need instead is Item # C49KR.

I have never had any problems with it since the installation. Very happy with this product unlike other hitches where you can see the whole thing. Do your research first before buying.
