Question:
I have a towmatic 11 tow bar that was used to pull a honda with road master 1545-1 base plates. Would the 3160-1b base plate bolt to the tomatic? It appears that the honda adapter is attached with 2 bolts on each side and could easily be replaced by the equinox brackets. What am I missing? Would I need anything else?

The Roadmaster Base Plate Kit, # RM-523160-4, requires the tow bar adapter, # RM-038, to work with the Towmatic II tow bar. The base plates on your Honda should have required this adapter as well, so if you already have the adapter, you could simply reuse it with your new base plates on the Chevy Equinox. The only other part you may be interested in is the Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Kit, # RM-201. This will make it easier to disconnect the tow bar from the adapter when you are not towing.
This would complete the connection between the tow bar and base plates. If you need any other flat towing components for your Equinox such as a tail light kit, supplemental braking system or safety cables, I recommend the following products
Braking system - Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700
Safety cables - Roadmaster 6,000 lb Cables # RM-643
Tail Light Kit - Bulb and Socket Kit # RM-155
I was doing some further research on your Equinox and it looks like Chevrolet recommends pulling fuse number 32 in the instrument panel fuse box before towing. I recommend installing the Fuse Bypass, # RM76511, so you would not have to remove the fuse each time you want to tow.
I also recommend installing the Stop Light Switch, # RM-751439, which will notify the motor home brake-monitoring system when the brake in the Equinox is applied to ensure the supplemental braking system is working properly.
Be sure to review the towing section of your owners manual. Vehicle manufacturers will list any specific flat towing procedures or restrictions that you should follow. It sounds like you are familiar with flat towing, but I have attached a few help articles on flat towing for you to reference regarding all of the main flat towing components.
