etrailer, The specs for your Item # RM-077-4 on your website states... *Gross towing weight: 10,000 lbs *Tongue weight: 400lbs Your NOTES states.... *Not for use when towing a trailer Im needing to tow a 2003 Coleman Grand Tour Elite Monterey pop-up that could weigh as much as 4000 lbs when loaded. Ill be using a 2019 1500 Ram Classic 4x4 crew cab to tow. It is unclear to me whether or not this item would be appropriate. If not this item, can you point me to a dual hitch that would work? Thanks

I do have an option for you, but the Roadmaster dual hitch adapter # RM-077-4 should not be used for towing a trailer. This is intended for use when flat towing a vehicle only.

Instead I recommend using the Gen-Y adjustable ball mount # 325-GH-314. This thing is rated for 10,000 lbs towing or 1,500 lbs tongue weight. So more than enough for your 4K trailer, and whatever other accessory you will be using the dual hitch for. This ball mount gives you four stacked 2" receivers so it will allow you to tow your trailer, as well as another hitch mounted accessory. We also offer the same ball mount but with 5 stacked receivers # 325-GH-525, if you need more room to work with.
