Question:
We are upgrading our travel trailer from our current which has a gvw of 7,000lbs to one with a gvw of 11,000lbs. We will be upgrading our current Fastway weight distribution/sway control system as well and are asking for your recommendations.

Assuming you were happy with your Fastway, I recommend upgrading to an Equal-i-zer. Equal-i-zer is one of the best brands out there and actually makes the Fastway hitch. This will give you additional sway control on your heavier trailer since it has 4-point sway control instead of 2.
The correct system will depend on the tongue weight of your loaded setup. Based on that 11,000 lbs you will need one of the following:
-Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37120ET (Tongue weight range 800-1,200 lbs)
-Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37140ET (Tongue weight range 1,000-1,400 lbs)
-Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ64FR (Tongue weight range 1,200-1,600 lbs)
More than likely you will need one of the first two and not the third. I recommend using a scale like the # e99044 to find your tongue weight. I have also included an article below explaining how to measure. Ideally you want to fall into the middle of the range. One that covers both your loaded and unloaded tongue weight would be best so the system works for all scenarios.
