Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this portable 30-amp Gen II Power Watchdog surge protector with Bluetooth and wifi. Now, this is a 30-amp surge protector, which will prevent damage to your RV from any power spikes and sustained high or low voltage. Then on the inside they have a surge protection module that'll give you 2,300 joules of protection in case of a lightning strike. And what's nice about that module, they make it very easy to replace it in case it wears out, so you don't have to replace your entire unit. You can just go in there and replace that module and you're ready to go.

They do offer a free smartphone app for iOS and Android, which will connect via built-in Bluetooth and wifi to help monitor your system and turn it on and off. And they make it really easy to pair with your device by just scanning this QR code on the front here. Once you scan that QR code, it'll allow you to pair to this. This will monitor volts, amps and watts in real time to keep an eye on your power draw. And it'll even give you push notifications when the voltage is outside of acceptable customizable ranges.

Now, right on the front here, it offer's easy-to-see indicators, which will show you if there's a problem and what that problem is. The watch star logo right here will actually light up white if your power is steady. If it lights up red, that's telling you there's an error. And right down here in the LED display, they'll indicate an error code, and it's very simple. What you can do is just go to the side of the box right here and they have a legend here with all the error codes, so right away you can be able to look at what the code shows and what the problem is.

Also, the lights on these displays can be dimmed via your mobile app. This does offer a fault history, which can record up to 10 faults. It does have a timestamp to provide detailed information on the shutdown. Now the housing right here, it is IP65 rated for weatherproof protection against dust and rain. Do you notice on the cord up here, it has this metal bracket around the cord, and that'll provide a secure place to attach a cable lock to.

Now, the unique feature on this is it's a side-entry receptacle and cover, so it helps relieve stress on your receptacle connection. Basically what you'd be able to see is I can pop open this hinge, and then if you look, there's your side receptacle, pop off your cap and there's where you put the plug in. And you'll be able to see on the bottom, you can see the part where your cords will hang down through there. Once you plug it in there, when you're not using it, just put the cap back on it and then you can close your door just like that. And what's nice, because it's a side-entry receptacle, of course when you plug it in, it'll relieve a lot of stress on your cord. And, also, the nice thing is if you look at the very top right up here, that little white dot, that's actually a light, an integrated light can be turned on for nighttime visibility. And you'll notice it's a door is clamshell bay door, and it has a ring on it right here that when you close it, it'll line up with a ring right here. And it's big enough to put a padlock through there, so it'll give you an extra layer of security to prevent any tampering alongside with the standard lock rig we mentioned on the cable. Now the amps on this is 30 amps. Maximum watts is 3,600 watts, and the energy dissipation is 2,300 joules.
