Question:

Hi etrailer experts, Ive installed the Tire Minder 10i on my 2022 Jayco Alante 31v. The problem is the inner tire valve extender wont allow a consistent tire pressure reading through the TPMS. Tire Minders says some braided extensions wont work and their website takes you to the recommended Wheel Master Extensions you happen to have on your site as appropriate replacements that will work with TMs tpms system. Can you advise me as to which valve extender package I should use for the dual rear wheels inner and outer and the fronts, then confirm these will work with the Tire Minder tpms. Much obliged

When using the TireMinder i10 TPMS for RVs # TM29FR, it is recommended to not use valve extenders. Obviously this is not always possible. But the manufacturer does state that if you do need extenders, you should use straight extenders that are steel or brass. They do state not to use braided extenders, for the reasons you mentioned.

You would need extenders like those below:
- Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM80292 (2")
- Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM80293 (3")
- Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM80294 (4")

TireMinder states "If you have to use a valve stem, we highly recommend straight metal valve stems. These type of valve stems can be altered by your tire dealer to correctly bend into place. When being bent, please instruct your tire dealer to provide enough room so that the TireMinder transmitter does not rub against the tire rim. This will damage both the transmitter and your rim."

If you know what kind of angle your wheels need for clearance, there are pre-bent options like the Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM8029 which have a 45-degree bend.

As long as it is a solid metal extender, it should work with the TPMS system.
