Question:
Dear Experts I have a newly installed Dexter #10 torsion axle, electric manual brakes, My question for you is, the forward facing brake shoe road side, tried to jump the upper pivot pin and got caught on the round retaining stop. When this happened it applied the brakes to that side of the axle. Im trying to find out what might have caused this to happen. My own thoughts are that the brakes were not adjusted correctly from the factory, too loose, giving the shoe room to move. Have you ever come across this before? and what are your thoughts. Thank you

That's odd, and I think you are 100 percent right that the issue is the brakes were not adjusted correctly (or at all?). So you definitely want to adjust them with Brake Spoon # W80630. Adjust the brakes until there is a consistent but slight drag and that should remedy the issue.
Personally, I would never go with manually adjusting brakes though for these type of reasons; I'd switch to the self-adjusting # 23-468-469 because they are just so much more convenient and eliminate running into these types of issues.
