Adding brakes to your 2004 Fleetwood Pecos Pop-Up Camper will require hub and drum assemblies, brake assemblies, 7-way wiring, and a breakaway kit. However, the first thing you need to do is check and see if you have a brake flange on the axle.

If you do not have a brake flange, you will either need to weld one on or replace the axle. Either way you will need to identify the axle and capacity to do this. The best way is to check the axle tag. If you can send me or the axle manufacturer a picture of the axle tag that information can be used to identify the axle.

If you do have a brake flange, you will still need the axle capacity to choose the right brakes. you will also need to know what bearings it uses to find the correct hub and drum assembly. For example, if you had a standard 3,500 lb axle with a 4-bolt brake flange pattern you could use the following:

If this doesn't match your axle capacity, or you don't have a brake flange, please let me know and I will help you find the correct parts once you identify what axle you have on the camper. One way or another, the 7-way and breakaway kit will work for you.

For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. The main unit mounts out of sight with only the control knob visible in the cab of your vehicle. This means it won't take up space and it has a nice clean look. The knob controls the brake power and also acts as the manual override. You will also need # RED69FR for installation. It is possible a custom wiring harness is available, but I would need to know the year, make, and model of your vehicle to check.
