Thanks for the reply, I have a 2018 Ford F-150. It has an OEM ford Controller. What happens if I switch to a vehicle that does not have an OEM controller? Do I then have to change the Hydrastar unit? Or is this unit backwards compatible and will work with all types of controllers?

Since you're driving a 2018 F-150 with an OEM controller and there's a possibility you're going switch to a vehicle that uses an aftermarket controller, you're going to want the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers item # HBA-CAM and the Hydrastar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness item # HS381-9067.
The Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers item # HBA-CAM is the part that communicates with the factory controllers. This can be removed if you use a vehicle with an aftermarket controller.
The Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - OEM - 1,600 psi item # HS481-8067 won't work with your 2018 F-150. It stops working in Ford brake controllers after the 2015 model year.
