Question:

what is the difference between HS381-9067 and HS481-8067 other than the price? want to install on tandem axle boat trailer with disc brakes. Tow vehicle is a 2012 ford F-350

The HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9067 is designed to work with an aftermarket electric over hydraulic brake controller. This kit will require you to wire in the components using the wire connectors that are included with the kit. I recommend using this kit if your trailer doesn't already have a 7-way trailer connection as you will get the junction box that allows you to wire up the trailer correctly.

The HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - OEM # HS481-8067 will allow you to use a OEM brake controller to operate the trailer brakes. It features weather tight connectors that allow for a much simpler install. This kit will require you to either already have a 7-way trailer connector already or to have one wired in to connect with the harness included with the kit.
