Does the Blue Ox Hitch Extender item # BX88264 Reduce My Hitches Capacity?

Question:

Can I use this with a dual dirt bike hitch carrier to extend it out in order to lower the tailgate? My F-350 has 2,500 lbs tongue weight rating. So I believe 1,500 lbs after the 50 reduction should be fine for the carrier and my bikes if I understand this correctly

The Blue Ox Hitch Extender item # BX88264 will reduce your hitches capacity by 50%. Your F-350's 2,500 tongue weight should be high enough that this reduction won't stop you from carrying your dirt bikes because you will still have a 1,250 lbs capacity. I do recommend checking with your carriers manufacturer to make sure the carrier is rated to be used with hitch extenders.
