Recommended 7-Way Power Adapter for Trailers Being Pulled by a 2021 GMC Sierra

Question:

Do you need the 7 way power adapter on 21gmc for every rv backup camera,my trailer is pre-wired fir furrion, and I bought a Amtifo rv backup camera, it has the adapter to hook up to the furrion wires in the trailer but I was wondering if I need this for my truck

Yes, you will need item # FR87PR. The only reason it says for Furrion cameras is because Furrion makes it. It doesn't matter what brand of cameras you're using. The problem with the power comes from your 2021 GMC Sierra's computer. The camera's run off of the same circuits as your trailer's lights and there's only so much power being sent to that circuit. The 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Furrion RV Observation Cameras item # FR87PR regulates the power supply to work with not only the lights but also have the ability to run the cameras.
