Will Autowbrake Fob Activate Trailer Brake Lights

Question:

Will using the fob to apply trailer brakes turn on the brake lights. I have read that dash mounted controllers will turn on the brake lights and damage electronics on vehicles equipped with collision avoidance systems so a diode needs to be installed in the brake light wire. Thank you

Using the fob on the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 will not activate the trailer brake lights. This includes the manual override. The key fob will cause the brakes to pulse, similar to an anti-lock brake system. There have been a few instances where pre-collision avoidance has had issues your standard brake controller. Installation of a 1 amp diode in-line with the circuit prevents this.
