Are 1/2-20 Lug Nuts Able To Be Used On M12-1.5" Wheel Studs?

Question:

I’m curious if 12x1.5 and 1/2x20 will fit each other. I recently bought lugnuts and just want to know if the will work. I would assume so because on Amazon they have both sizes for my truck and it says it will fit.

Expert Reply:

M12-1.5 and 1/2"-20 threads are not going to be interchangeable. The diameter of an M12 thread is only going to be 0.4724" while 1/2" threads are going to be 0.500" in diameter. We currently only have 1/2"-20 Lug Nuts # CE11051 as we primarily deal with only US Spec components.
