Since RV water heater manufacturers have changed with the times you will have a bit of work to do to get any new water heater to fit correctly. The best option we currently carry is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR.

This water heater is 12-5/8" wide x 12-5/8" tall x 19-1/4" deep so you'll likely need to frame in the cutout hole a bit for this new unit to mount to. You can then cover any gaps with some thin pieces of plywood or any other material of your choice since the access door will cover them. You'll need some butyl tape # AL28FJ for the mounting flange of the water heater and the access door to prevent any water from leaking in through the screws.

From there we also need to figure out the best size for the access door. If your 16" x 13" measurement is from the outer edges of the mounting flange and not the water heater unit size then the 16" x 16" door option # FR98SR would be the best option. If your width exceeds 16" then I recommend going with the 16" x 18" option # FR48SR instead. You will have to trim the siding of the trailer just a bit for the access door to sit flush with the trailer wall and then will want to seal around the outer edge of the door with some sealant # 344270341437-1.

I've attached a short video below where Dave will walk you through the installation process.
