Question:
Hi there been reading through the reviews and questions so I figured I’d just send a message. I’m trying to get clearance to tow my keystone travel trailer with my truck bed down.dirt bikes is this a good option for me? The trailer is roughly 3700-4000lbs. I know it’s going to reduce my towing capacity but will it hold up pretty good considering the trailer is very light? Thanks I’m advance for any information! Driving a Ram 1500 if that makes any difference in your answer haha

With hitch extenders the key thing to keep in mind is that when you use one you end up cutting the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent due to the increased leverage and movement created. So as long as the hitch of your Ram has twice the towing capacity compared to the weight of your trailer it would be fine. You should note that the Blue Ox hitch extender you mentioned is not rated for towing trailer (only flat towing vehicles), so instead you'd need a similar option that is like with the Curt hitch extender part # C45791 which is 8 inches long.
