Recommended Solution To A Porpoising Travel Trailer With A 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:
I have a 2015 chevy 1500 4wd. We tow an 8000 lb. travel trailer. I get some porpoising on the open road. A friend told me air bags would help. Any suggestions? I did install Summo spring bump stops.

Air bag's are simply designed to lift your bed back to factory ride height, so while you might see a bit of a difference you wouldn't fix the real issue. The best option is use a weight distribution hitch to shift the trailer's tongue weight towards the front axle of your Silverado.
I recommend first getting the fully loaded tongue weight of your trailer with a tongue weight scale like part # e99044. Once we know the actual tongue weight we can find the correct spring bar capacity. Typically you'll want to be in the middle of the capacity range to get the best performance out of the system.
The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800, for example, has a tongue weight range of 400lbs - 800lbs. This system is a great option to use if you experience minor to mild sway and is super simple to install. I've attached a video below where Ryan will walk you through the process, but if you have any other questions please let me know.
