Question:

I have a 2022 JL wrangler unlimited that we plan to use for flat towing and I was wondering if this wiring system would work with our Jeep Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit Item # BLU79FR? Would it work in conjunction with a Demco Air Force One braking system or would we need an extra brake relay? To add a battery trickle charge would we need a 7 pin from the RV to the vehicle? Just trying to get all my ducks in a row and figured out so we’ll be ready to go for the season. Thanks for the input and the great service you guys have provided in the past!

Yes, the Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit # BLU79FR is a compatible wiring harness for your 2022 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. That being said, plug-in style connectors typically have quite a bit of issues and end up failing a lot more than a splice-in diode. Not only that but this harness only gives you a 4-pole connector so you wouldn't be able to add in a charge line to keep your Jeep's battery charged while you tow.

I highly recommend switching over to the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 and saving yourself a lot of time and hassle down the road. If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you'll need to use part # RM47ZR and # RM-146-7 instead.

Since the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 has a reed switch you won't need to purchase and install an additional relay.

For the trickle charge you'll need part # RM-156-25 for your Jeep and part # RM-156-75 if your motorhome doesn't already have a charge line installed.
