Great question!
The air bag on the 20K Shocker Hitch HD Air Ball Mount # SHK23VR is replaceable with part # SHK25RR if the need arises.
I've spoken with Shocker Hitch in the past about how durable the air bags are when located next to the receiver (as opposed to suspension bags being next to the tires) and they said that the bags perform just fine and the vast majority of road debris just bounces right off. It's still comforting to know there is a replacement available if something does happen though.
