Question:
Looking at buying a tundra crew max with the 5.5 bed. Will the companion I have for the BandW turnover ball fit in that socket for the tundra? It looks like the ball for the tundra has a shorter shank on it.

With the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1257 on your 2015 Toyota Tundra you will be able to use the Fixed B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3500 but you will need to contact B&W to have the correct attachment sent to you for the Toyota hitch. Do note that the according to B&W you will only be able to used the fixed 5th wheel hitch on your Tundra and this style Companion is not compatible with pivoting pin boxes. This will likely lead to clearance issues when trying to maneuver your 5th wheel trailer due to the short bed on your Tundra.
You can use the 4" Offset Ball # BWGNXA4585 or the included hitch ball with with either a Reese Goose Box # RP94716 or Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 to adapt your 5th wheel to a gooseneck ball connection.
If you do not mind rails in your bed installing the Demco Rail Kit # DM8552020-71 with the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550040 will give you the best towing experience. This is due to the 5th wheel hitch sliding back up to 22-1/2" giving you the clearance you need to make full jackknife turns without damaging your truck or 5th wheel. It moves forward and back as you turn so there is no need to get out of your truck to reposition the hitch when you need the additional clearance.
