Fan Not Working and Lid Won't Close on Ventline Ventadome V2119 Trailer Roof Vent

Question:

My vent in bathroom of rv is giving us troubles. First issue is the fan will not turn on at all And second issue is when we close the lid it will close but will not shut off making me think that it is not making the full rotation to close and seal the lid. I just need to know what parts I need to get it to get it back in working order. We have two of these vents and the other is still working like a charm. Thank you.

It's hard to say exactly what's wrong with your roof vent fan without physically inspecting it and all the components. That said, the fan not working is usually a motor issue so if you have power going to the motor but it still won't turn on then it will need to be replaced with the Replacement 12V DC Motor part # BVD0218-00. If you don't have power then it's likely a wiring issue and you'll need to check and trace the wires. In regards to the lid not fully shutting, this is usually an operator mechanism and in which case you'd need the Replacement Operator, Knob and Screw part # BVD0462-00.

If you don't want to deal with all the headache of troubleshooting then you can replace the entire unit using the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent part # V2119-601-00 for white or part # V2119-603-00 for smoke. I'd also recommend the Roof Vent Installation Kit part # 344270KITW for this.
