Does 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 with OEM Prep Package Need Slider Hitch or Is Fixed Okay
Published 11/28/2022 >
Question:
BandW direct told me the non-slider RVK3710 is actually preferred in the new generation trucks even the standard bed. A slider is not needed. The factory puck system is already further back than previous generation trucks and cab clearance is not an issue. Plus they said on the slider hitch RVK3775 when the hitch is slid back your trailer will interfere with tailgate. Your hitch finder does not recommend this hitch for 69inch bed. Who is correct?

B and W would be the best source for the fit of their hitches and I would agree with them that the fixed B and W Companion part # BWRVK3710 would be your best option for your 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 short bed with the OEM prep package. Our fitguide is setup to show slider hitches for all short bed trucks BUT the reality is that most modern fifth wheel campers have tapered noses designed for short bed clearance so they don't really need sliders and your short bed truck is on the longer end of the short bed spectrum plus the pucks are positioned a little further back. So yeah, your truck is going to not need a slider hitch and the Companion is by far the best option.
