Expert Reply:

A 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will need to have 4WD and a two-speed transfer case, which will need to be placed in neutral, in order to safely flat tow. Your owner's manual will have a list of instructions to follow to switch your transfer case into neutral under the "recreational vehicle towing" section.

If you don't already have your setup complete then I have the following recommendations:

Baseplate: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU24TR. The arms of these baseplates are removable to provide a clean factory look when not in use.

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e67ZR. This tow bar comes with an adjustable head and shank to help keep the tow bar level between your Silverado and motorhome. Safety cables are included as well so you won't have to purchase them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring:Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode wiring kit is a simple one time installation that will transfer your motorhome's brake and turn signals through the tail lights of your Silverado to remain street legal and allow others to know your intentions on the road.

You will need to disconnect the battery to flat tow so I highly recommend getting the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766 to make disconnecting/reconnecting the battery as simple as a push of a button.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This braking system comes with a remote to display when the brakes are being depressed in your Silverado and will also allow you to easily adjust the brake sensitivity while on the go. It also includes a charge line kit for your Silverado to help keep your battery charged while you tow.

If your motorhome doesn't have a charge line ran to the 7-way then you can use the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.
