Will the Ultimate Trailer Jack Work On a 7,500 Lb Trailer

Question:
Hi, Im interested in this trailer jack. This might be a stupid question, but is the 2000 lbs rating for tongue weight or the weight of the trailer and stuff inside it? I have a 16foot cargo trailer with a GVWR of 7550 lbs being pulled by a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 diesel. Will this trailer jack be sufficient or exceed the original jack? Thanks,

The Ultimate Trailer Jack part # 322-RDJ-2K has a 2,000 lb weight capacity which refers to the tongue weight capacity of the trailer. The jack does not need to be rated for the gross trailer weight, only the tongue weight which is between 10 - 15% of the gross trailer weight. For example, a 7,500 lb trailer should have a tongue weight between 750 lbs - 1,125 lbs which this jack would be perfect for as it's rated up to 2,000 lbs.
