Is it Normal for 7-Way Bracket of EcoHitch that Fits 2022 Toyota RAV4 to Angle Down

Question:
After installing my 7 pin connector on my Toyota Rav4 using the provided mounting bracket that came with the ecohitch I found that my lowest point of my tow system is now my trailers 7 pin connector. The bracket forces the connector to angle down 45 degrees towards the road and trailers connector and wire hang a good 2-3 inches lower than my hitch or trailer tongue. Ive already scraped the connector a few times on just normal driveways and the wire has some minor abrasions on it after 2 trips. Im afraid im going to rip the whole connector off or wear through the wire casing in a short amount of time. Is there something I did wrong about installing the connector bracket? Is there another part or type of connector that would help to angle the connector parallel to the road? Seems like a huge design flaw if this is how mounting bracket works.

Helpful Expert Reply:
You did install the 7-way bracket of the EcoHitch part # EH97FR that fits your 2022 Toyota RAV4 correctly. It is an odd angle that the 7-way does hang at. You could maybe try bending the bracket back so that the angle is better or you could use a bracket like the part # 18138 to mount it to the lower bumper at a better angle.
