TorkLift RV and Camper Steps - Truck Camper,Towable Camper - TLA7806 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps. This is going to have six steps in total. It has an aluminum construction, and it's going to be 20" wide with a 320 lbs max capacity. This is going to be a great option for any in bed campers that have a really tall entryway. Especially if you have it on bigger truck or something like that. Again it does give you six steps so you can get into your camper with ease.

It is made of an aluminum construction so even though it's a pretty hefty step it's going to be still pretty light so it's not too hard to handle. This is going to extend for entry heights between 46-1/2" to 54-1/2" off the ground. The other step dimension is going to be 20" wide x 8" deep. It does have this nice tread pattern. It has some raised grooves and about four or five, four stripes along our step. So, it's going to help to give your shoes some grip as you're getting in and out of your camper.

Also, on each step at each corner is going to be a little sticker of some glow-in-the-dark material that's going to help. That's actually where it gets the name GlowStep. It's going to help you get in and out of your camper easier in the dark. It's kind of hard to see in the studio here, but these do glow a little bit so that you can see those steps more easily in dim lighting. It just takes five minutes for those to charge, and they will last for about 10 hours.

So, it should be plenty to get you through the night.Again it is going to have that scissor design that's going to let you manually open the step and then close it. It's not too hard, but you might need an extra hand to push it in and out. It has a stainless steel hinge on the back that's going to mount to the bumper on your trailer or below the entry on your camper. The hinges are also going to made of a stainless steel to bolt it on. So, if you get the step and realize that you only really need five steps it's pretty easy process to remove one of those to get it to the height that you need.

Again this is going to work for entry heights between 46-1/2" and 54" high off the ground. This is designed to just sort of float so that bottom rung will sort of rest on the ground. But if you want you can also pick up the landing gear from TorkLift to act as little rubber feet. And that's give you a more secure connection to the ground. That's available here at, as well. That part number is going to TLA8000. There's also the GlowGuide Handrail, which is going to be a sort of handrail that comes out from your camper and then connects at two points on your steps. It helps to give you a little stability and especially with a step that goes out this far it's going to help to make it a little easier to get into your camper. That's also available here at That part number's going to be TLA7620.Now again this is going to be 20" wide with an 8" deep step. The mounting bracket dimension is going to be 21-1/2" wide and 8-1/2" deep or 8-9/16" inch deep. Whenever it's all folded down it's going to be about 15" tall and about 22" wide going to the very outside of those bolts and about 10" deep. So, going from the bracket to the outermost part of the step. Again, that's when it's all collapsed down so wherever you've got it mounted up on the back of your vehicle that's how much space it's going to take up there. The drop and rise for our steps is going to be about 8" and again the weight capacity is going to be 325 pounds. This does come with a lifetime warranty from TorkLift. And that's going to do for our look at the TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps with Six Steps.

Would have helped to show them in operation, lifting and lowering. I just ordered a unit and hope they serve my particular purpose.

We have not had the opportunity to install these steps yet, and when we do we would show the operation of the step as you noted. Until then, we have our studio demonstration video that shows some of and describes the features of these steps.
