Question:

How well would this work for installing a 5th wheel hitch up into the bed of my truck? Even though my BandW Companion brakes down into two sections, its still kind of unwieldy for one person to wrestle up in there. What are your thoughts? Have others used this for that purpose? Thanks for any input you can offer.

The Viking Solutions Rack Jack Magnum Hoist w/ Winch # 310-VMH001 would work great to help get a fifth wheel hitch in and out of the truck bed. It has more than enough capacity and would take all of the strain out of having to lift the hitch into the bed. B and W has the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device for Companion and Patriot Hitches # BWRVXA3130 which was designed to be used with hoists like this and the Companion hitch like you have to make it even easier. Basically this fits into the jaws of the hitch like a trailer king pin and gives an attachment point for the hoist.
