Bracket to Install TorkLift GlowStep Scissor Steps Under Wood Landing in Garage

Published 09/07/2022

Question:

Thank you for your response. I also was looking at just using Item # TLA7835. I can mount on outside of landing. Do you think this application should work? I was going to remove lower landing in photo and attach steps to upper landing. I believe if I need to remove this model has a option to remove from brackets. Also in this application what bolts are supplied to attach?

I have an option for an adapter that can possibly work for mounting the steps under the wood landing in your garage, but this is not something we or the manufacturer has done, so I can't guarantee it will work. It should, but I did need to mention you'd have to take that chance. So what you can use is the following:

- TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear # TLA8105

- TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Vertical Stud Adapter Bracket # TLA8022

I have added a photo showing the adapter bracket attached to the steps, which you could then bolt to the bottom of your landing.

Happy to try and help you figure this out, and yes, I think you can also use the TorkLift GlowStep Stow N' Go Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear # TLA7835. They would be able to mount on the outside of that landing, just like you were mounting them to a truck camper bumper, for example; you would need a 19-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" tall space to mount them, so that's the dimension the face of the landing would need to be. So I don't see why it wouldn't work, but again, I can't 100 percent guarantee it. You are also correct that they can be removed from the bracket, and there are two sets of bolts that come with the # TLA7835, and you can use either; they are 3/8"-16 x 1-1/4" and 3/8”-16 x 2.5” SS hex bolts.
