Question:
Hello. I have a 2017 Mercedes metris cargo van. Id like to pull a small camp trailer. Have you had any success in using your wiring kit with a 4 to 7 plug adapter to be able to use a trailer brake. Id like to use the Curt echo wireless model. Thank you

It sounds like you already have a 4-way on your 2017 Mercedes-Benz Metris. If you don't, you will need to start by adding one with the # C59496. From there, you can upgrade to a 7-way using the # ETBC7.
We have had great success with the # ETBC7. If you take a look at the product page it has thousands of reviews and we have over one hundred installation videos. This is the perfect solution for adding a 7-way when a custom wiring option is not available. This comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else you need to be able to add a 7-way and use a brake controller.
Since you are looking to add the Curt Echo # C51180, you won't need the brake output wire that comes with the # ETBC7. We have a kit that leaves this out for brake controller like the Echo, so you can use the # ETBC7L instead which comes without the blue brake output wire. If you think you might install an in-cab brake controller at some point in the future, I would go ahead and use the # ETBC7 so you still have that option.
