Question:

I have a Thule Transporter Combi and am looking for the replacement 5mm hex bolt that secures the 2 hitch adapter to the shank. Is Item # 852-3136-001 correct? Im also looking for a compatible locking hitch pin that will thread into the Transporter Combis shank and then completely through the adapter, so it can be locked on the other side of the vehicles hitch. Thank you!

I recommend using the M6 Flat Cap Screw # 853-5787-02 since that's what Thule has listed as the part needed on their site.

The Replacement M5 x 15 mm Bolt # 852-3136-001 you referenced is for some of the bike racks Thule makes but according to the instructions for the Thule Transporter Combi TH665C it looks like the 2" Hitch Adapter # 853-7489 is installed to the shank using the Replacement M6 x 16mm Flat Cap Screw # 853-5787-02.

This is a little confusing since the Thule instructions call for removing the screw by using a 5mm Hex Key (which is ironically listed as a 4mm Hex Key # 853-2430-02 according to Thule) but I would be lying if I said this was the first time Thule had an inconsistency in their instructions.

Thule makes quality products but their replacement parts lists can get confusing at times and this seems to be one of those times.

To lock the Transporter Combi carrier to your receiver you can use the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 which fits both 1-1/4" and 2" receivers.
