Question:
Hey I have a 2006 Chevy 2500hd crew cab long bed duramax. I’m wanting to get a fifth wheel camper and I can’t figure out what size camper to get. I’ve got my eyes set on a 2021 wildwood heritage glen 370bl. Can I haul it?

To determine the maximum trailer weight capacity you can tow with your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500, you will need take your Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and subtract that by the the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck from the (GCWR) that will give you the maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GTW). This can all be found on the information tag located inside the driver door jamb. You're owners manual may also list your capacity as well.
The dry weight of a 2021 Forest River Wildwood Heritage Glen 370BL is 11,524lb, so you can expect another 1,000-2,000lbs for a GVWR on the trailer. So you would need to be able to tow roughly 13,000lbs (+ or -) with your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500.
If you don't already have a 5th wheel hitch then I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3200 along with the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWRVK2500. This hitch has a 16,000lb capacity and the rail kit has custom brackets that require no drilling into your frame for installation.
