Question:
I am looking for a replacement axle for my boat trailer. The overall length of the axel is 88”. The spacing between the leaf springs is 66” it has a load rating of 2250 lbs. the lug spacing is 5-4 1/2”. I have only been able to find a straight axle. The one that is on the trailer currently is a round tube with a v in the middle.

While we have an option for your suspension system, there aren't standard axles of that size, but what will work for you is an axle-less system from Timbren, and there is even an option for one with a lift if you want a little more height:
- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR1THDS01
or
- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle # TASR1THDS04
Both of these are 2,200 lb capacity systems that have a brake flange if your boat trailer has brakes. The Timbren Axle-Less also give you an improved ride compared to a traditional through-axle. The reason for that is the Timbrens aren't connected by an axle beam, so they work independently, meaning if there is a bump on one side of the road it won't rattle your entire trailer. The system also has progressive springs built in which are shock absorbers that allow a much smoother, more comfortable ride than the leaf springs found on standard axles.
The other thing you will need with this are hubs, and the correct hub and drum or idler hub - both with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern - are the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum # 84546UC3-EZ or Dexter Trailer Idler Hub # 84545UC1-EZ.
