Is There Timbren 5,200 lb Axle Less Kit that Can Fit Wider Tire Sizes

Updated 01/06/2025 | Published 12/27/2024

Question:

Hello, we are looking for an axle/supesnion setup for 10.000lbs trailers. The timbren option looks attractive but the max tire width 235 is not a common option in our market. Is it possible to use 245/75 r16 LT tires?

Hey Fernando, so our best option would be the version of the same Timbren Axle Less kit but it was designed for off road tires part # T99GR. The max tire size this works with is 35x12.5-20 instead. Only other difference is that it has a 4 inch lift instead of a 2 inch lift.

Thank you Jameson! Looks like a suitable option. We need a proposal for 32 sets (16 trailers), Brake options? We can go electric or hydraulic, what would you recommend?

@Fernando No prob! I prefer the simplicity of electric brakes over hydraulic so that would be what I would go with. For hub drums you'd want the part # 8-201-5UC3-EZ and then for brake assembly sets you'd want the part # AKEBRK-7-SA. To wire up the brake assemblies you'd want to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.

@JamesonC Thank you for the advice, I will work with this information. What about delivery? All in stock for 32 sets?

@Fernando The hubs and brake assemblies are all in stock for the amount you need. Looks like there's a 10 day delay on the Timbren Axle Less kit from the manufacturer currently.
