Using the TracRac SR with the BAKFlip MX4 on a 2017 Ford F-150 with Short Bed

Will it work? I have a 2017 Ford F-150 short 5-1/2 foot bed.

Yes, you technically can use the Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-508 with the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK48329 on your 2017 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. This is because the BAKFlip MX4 leaves the stake pockets completely open for the TracRac SR to install. Although, since the uprights on the TracRac SR lean inward toward the truck, you will have to slide the uprights out of the way while opening/closing the cover in order to avoid the panels connecting with those bases.
If you are open for suggestions, a better ladder rack to use with the # BAK48329 is the Adarac Pro Series # A4000964 (silver) or # A86RR (matte black). The reason why this is the better choice is because since the uprights stand straight up, you won't have to rearrange them while opening the MX4. Additionally, since the square crossbars on the rack measure 1-1/2", they are compatible with most clamp-on accessories such as kayak carriers. You can also purchase great add-ons like the tie-down eye bolts # A4000882 and the adjustable load stops # A4000880.
